Thy Will Be Done

The lecture revolves around the meaning of the phrase “Thy will be done” in the Lord’s Prayer, as the essence of spiritual life based on complete surrender to God’s will and trust in His wisdom and goodness.
Surrender to God’s will:
His Holiness Pope Shenouda III explains that the true spiritual person does not impose his will on God, but fully surrenders his life to Him, believing that everything God allows is for good.
Faith and trust:
Surrender requires deep faith that God is good and wise, and knows what is best for الإنسان more than the person knows for himself.
Obedience without argument:
The believer does not argue with God or delay in carrying out His will, but obeys immediately like the angels and as the fathers and prophets did.
Humility and self-denial:
Surrender requires a humble heart that does not rely on its own understanding, but accepts God’s management without objection or complaining.
The danger of self-will:
Holding onto personal desires hinders the fulfillment of God’s will and may lead to losing inner peace and falling into sin.
The blessing of obedience:
Whoever lives according to God’s will enjoys peace, joy, and blessing, and experiences God’s work continuously in his life.
Practical application:
A person should always seek that God’s will prevails in all aspects of life, not his own will or the will of others.
