The Beginning and Perseverance

The Beginning and Perseverance
Many priests begin their priestly ministry with great zeal and enthusiasm, sound pastoral principles, an excellent spiritual life, and good relationships with people, servants, and all those who labor in the Church.
The problem, however, is that some do not continue as they began.
What are the reasons for this? And how can it be addressed?
This issue requires serious practical study. It may need a special seminar attended only by clergy under the guidance of certain bishops, or perhaps candid observations from those who have closely known these priests and studied their circumstances.
Are the reasons external, related to circumstances that changed the priest’s approach and way of life? Or are they internal factors?
Are they within the priest himself, within his family, or related to his health?
And what are those external circumstances or causes? Were they truly so compelling and unavoidable? And if so, how?
