Knowing God Part 2

The main idea of the lecture:
The lecture focuses on that the true knowledge of God is not intellectual knowledge or theoretical information, but rather an experiential knowledge lived through a living relationship with God.
Experiential knowledge of God:
His Holiness Pope Shenouda III emphasizes that a person cannot know God unless he lives with Him and deals with Him daily. True knowledge comes from experience, from prayer, contemplation, and listening to God’s voice, not just from reading or studying.
The difference between intellectual and experiential knowledge:
There is a clear difference between one who hears about God or studies Him, and one who actually experiences Him in his life. As Job expressed: “I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees You,” which shows the transition from theoretical knowledge to living knowledge.
A call to experience God:
The lecture calls to “taste” God and experience Him, as it is said: “Taste and see that the Lord is good.” True faith is not an explanation or a lecture, but a living personal experience.
Theology and spiritual life:
Theology is not merely information to be memorized, but a life to be lived. A person may have vast knowledge without having a real relationship with God, while simple people may enter the Kingdom through a simple life full of faith.
Transforming knowledge into life:
Knowledge must be transformed into practical practice in life, so that it appears in behavior, feelings, and actions. True faith is measured by deeds and daily life.
Personal relationship with God:
The relationship with God must be real and tangible, where a person feels God’s presence in his life and sees His hand in daily events.
Meditation on God’s attributes:
Meditating on one attribute of God, such as love, can transform a person’s entire life and lead him to a deep spiritual life.
