Morning Visitation… For Whom Is It?

Morning Visitation… For Whom Is It?
It is well known that the visitation of the priest-father to families usually takes place in the afternoon, after the head of the household returns from work, so that the priest may sit with all the members of the family together. Does this mean, then, that there is no visitation in the morning period?
No. There are many cases for morning visitation, among them:
- Visiting the sick, whether in hospitals or in homes.
- Visiting homes in which the head of the household is a retiree.
- Visiting homes of the elderly.
- Visiting cases of condolence in death, where the entire family is gathered. Included in this category is also the third-day prayer in homes.
- Praying the anointing of the sick (oil lamp) early in the morning at home by prior appointment.
- Morning visitation on days of holidays.
- Visiting homes in the morning at a time requested by the head of the household himself, who is more aware of his circumstances and his time.
- Visiting groups at their place of work, if they are purely Coptic groups, such as a workshop for example, or a women’s association, or nursery homes, and the like.
