Visit and Pastoral Visitation

Visit and Pastoral Visitation
There is a great difference between pastoral visitation and a mere visit in the priest’s ministry.
If you visit a family without carrying out any spiritual work with them, then this is only a visit and not a pastoral visitation.
A pastoral visitation is when the family feels that God has entered the home with the priest and has worked within it.
Pastoral visitation means checking on the spiritual condition of the household, the condition of each individual in it, and what needs to be done for them.
It also includes offering an appropriate spiritual word and an uplifting encouragement, drawing the whole family to the church, its meetings, sacraments, and activities, as well as resolving their problems as much as possible.
