✝️ The Main Idea

The lecture revolves around the supreme commandment of Christ to love enemies, explaining that this commandment is not مجرد tolerance or forgiveness, but a spiritual elevation that reaches true love including blessing, doing good, and praying for offenders.

📖 Correcting the Concept

His Holiness Pope Shenouda III confirms that the phrase “hate your enemy” is not from the Scripture, but was added by the scribes and Pharisees. God calls us to hate evil, not evildoers, and to love everyone without exception.

❤️ Levels of Christian Love

The required love is not only:

  • Tolerating the enemy
  • Or being patient with him
  • Or even forgiving him
    But it rises to:
  • Loving him
  • Blessing him
  • Doing good to him
  • Praying for him

And this is the highest level of spiritual elevation.

🌿 Imitating God

God makes His sun rise on the righteous and the wicked, and sends rain on the just and the unjust. Therefore, الإنسان is required to resemble God in His universal love and long-suffering.

🕊 Spiritual Dimension

Christianity calls الإنسان to return to the divine image in which he was created, through:

  • Holiness
  • Perfection
  • Loving all without discrimination

🙏 Practical Application

Love is not theoretical الكلام, but appears in:

  • Not repaying evil with evil
  • Praying for offenders
  • Seeking the good in others
  • Avoiding judgment

🔥 Call for Self-Examination

The lecture raises an important question:
Do we pray for those who offend us?
And do we show our love practically or only by words?

🌟 Final Goal

For a person to be a true child of God, this must appear in his deeds, because sonship is not a title but a life and behavior that resembles God.
