  • The lecture revolves around the virtue of true humility, where a person lives in a constant feeling that he has not yet reached perfection, no matter how much he progresses in his spiritual life.

Spiritual and Educational Dimension:

  • His Holiness Pope Shenouda III explains that humility is a sign of true spiritual growth.
  • The humble person does not see himself as having arrived, but remains in continuous struggle toward perfection.
  • The feeling of incompleteness preserves the soul from pride and leads it to continual repentance.
  • Humility makes a person depend on the grace of God, not on his own abilities.
  • The closer a person gets to God, the more he feels his weakness and need for Him.
  • True humility is not related to words, but appears in inner thoughts and behavior.
  • Spiritual growth is a continuous journey, not a station a person reaches and stops.
  • God grants His grace to the humble, because their hearts are always open to learning and change.
