The Dutiful Son, the Disobedient Son, and the Most Disobedient Son
They are three kinds, all of whom we have encountered on the journey of life…
• The dutiful son is the one who, if he finds a matter in the Church that needs correction, or finds a deficiency that must be remedied, comes forward with all love and sincerity, and with every positive and constructive deed, to fill the deficiency and provide the remedy, without noise. An example of this is what Habib Girgis did in his generation.
• The disobedient son, however, if he finds something that he does not like, fills the whole world with noise and defamation. He thinks that all goodness lies in exposing mistakes in the Church and making them known, thus exposing himself to the curse of Canaan, the first son in history whom his father cursed (Gen. 9:25), and our Lord Jesus Christ affirmed this curse (Matt. 15:22–26).
• More disobedient than this disobedient son is the one who does not discover mistakes, but rather invents mistakes and attributes them to his Church, and rejoices when he sees strangers tarnishing her reputation, and even helps them to do so. He tries to cover his conscience with labels and ideas that no good conscience can accept..!!
