On Respect for the Altar Sanctuary
It is known that entry into the altar sanctuary is not permitted except for the servants of the altar from among the clergy, as well as the brother deacons.
But it sometimes happens that the altar sanctuary becomes crowded with photographers under the pretext of photographing a ceremony. And it is difficult to remove them because of the importance of the ceremony!!
So how can this problem be resolved?
The ceremony may be the ordination of new fathers of priests. Photographers may have come, for example, from seven churches, with cameras, video equipment, and lighting equipment.
And besides the noise caused by the crowding of the photographers, and some of them obstructing one another, they often prevent the rest of the congregation from seeing because of their crowding… So what is the solution?
Either the Patriarchate carries out the photography through its own personnel and equipment, then distributes the photographs to the churches according to their requests…..
Or the churches send deacons from among their children, who wear the deacons’ vestments, carry out the photography, and respect the sanctity of the place…
