• Perhaps at their forefront are the five wise virgins who had the quality of continual readiness, whose lamps were lit and whose vessels were filled with oil. They entered joyfully into the wedding feast..
• They became a symbol for every wise soul in existence, able to prepare for the Kingdom.
• The mother of Moses the prophet was wise in her conduct, and likewise her daughter Miriam. Through wisdom they were able to save the child Moses from death, as well as ensure his proper upbringing.
• Ruth the Moabitess was wise in her treatment of her mother-in-law, and in winning Boaz, who became an ancestor of Christ.
