As It Is in Heaven, So Also on Earth

The lecture explains the phrase “Your will be done, as it is in heaven, so also on earth,” clarifying that God desires the same perfect obedience on earth as exists in heaven, where His will is carried out quickly, without argument or delay.
Obedience as in Heaven
In heaven, the angels execute God’s commands immediately upon hearing them, without hesitation, discussion, or مخالفة. This immediate and complete obedience is the model that humans should live by on earth in their relationship with God.
Comparison with Human Life
Humans often delay in carrying out God’s commandments, or debate them according to their own reasoning and desires, sometimes choosing only what suits them. This contradicts the true concept of obedience that God desires.
Spiritual Examples
Examples are presented such as Abraham who obeyed God without argument, and the Lord Christ who obeyed unto death. These models embody complete obedience as in heaven.
The Church as an Image of Heaven
The church on earth should be a reflection of heaven, where holiness prevails and there is no place for sin. It is a community of saints just like heaven which includes angels and the spirits of the saints.
Holiness as a Condition for the Kingdom
For God’s will to be fulfilled on earth, His kingdom must reign in hearts, leading to a life without sin, similar to life in heaven.
The Concept of Spiritual Bread
The bread referred to in the Lord’s Prayer is not material, but spiritual bread that grants eternal life, meaning the Word of God, the Body and Blood of Christ, and everything that nourishes the soul.
Spiritual Nourishment
A human needs spiritual nourishment represented in prayer, contemplation, the Word of God, and the holy sacraments. This nourishment strengthens the soul and elevates the person above bodily needs.
