He Does Not Keep Appointments!

He Does Not Keep Appointments!
Question
What should our attitude be toward a senior servant in the Church? who gives appointments to deliver a sermon, yet we wait for him and he repeatedly fails to come, then offers unacceptable excuses?
Answer
There is no doubt that a servant who sets a time to deliver a message and then does not come is a person who does not consider the feelings of those being served, nor the welfare of the meeting. Repeated absences make the meeting unstable and may even cause it to fall apart.
If he has an unavoidable excuse, then it is expected that this servant should present that excuse before the meeting, with enough time to allow another servant to be invited as a substitute.
Since he has repeated this absence, the best disciplinary measure is that you refrain from inviting him to deliver a message again.
At least for several months, so that he may become humble on the one hand, recognize his mistake, respect the meeting time, learn commitment, and not rely on the fact that he is a senior and well-known servant.
If you invite him again after that, make sure that there is a substitute available at the same meeting, so that if he is late, the substitute can begin delivering the message.
In this way, this senior servant will receive a lesson that will benefit both him and the meeting.
I say this because many people benefit from discipline when it is applied, no matter how prominent they may be. Also, the common good is far more important than showing favoritism to prominent people.
