Spiritual Vigilance and Resisting the Enemy

Therefore, one must remain constantly prepared and spiritually discerning.
Beware of Gradual Decline
He explains that the most dangerous falls are not only the sudden ones, but also the slow and unnoticed decline in prayer, spiritual reading, spiritual fervor, and commitment to a holy life. The vigilant person notices any weakness or change in his life from its beginning and treats it quickly.

He warns against rushing after any new idea without examination, discernment, prayer, and counsel, because the enemy may use haste to lead a person into mistakes or spiritual deviations.
Continuous Spiritual Growth
Spiritual vigilance is not limited to avoiding sin, but also includes following up spiritual growth, love for God, and progress in the spiritual life, without being satisfied merely with avoiding evil.
Benefiting from Reproof and Guidance
He encourages accepting advice, guidance, and even constructive criticism, because God may use others to awaken a person from negligence and reveal his faults and weaknesses so that he may return to the right path.
Not Surrendering After a Fall
He stresses that despair is one of the most dangerous tricks of Satan. Therefore, if a person falls, he should rise quickly through repentance and not allow the enemy to turn a temporary fall into complete spiritual collapse.
