The lecture emphasizes that human life is not limited to being born, living, and then dying, but that every person has a divine mission that he should discover and live for.

Main Idea

His Holiness Pope Shenouda III focuses on the fact that God created every person for a specific purpose and mission, and He gave every creature its own role. Man is called to use his talents, abilities, and capabilities in serving God and people, rather than living centered on himself or seeking only pleasure and enjoyment.

Spiritual Dimension

From the Coptic Orthodox perspective, the true mission is connected to good works, love for others, and spreading goodness. God prepares every person for the mission He desires for him, whether through education, experiences, or trials and hardships that allow spiritual growth and maturity.

Talents and Responsibility

The lecture stresses that talents are not for personal glorification, but are a trust and a mission for which a person will be accountable before God. Every talent, whether intellectual, artistic, or practical, should be used for serving society and glorifying God.

Diversity of Missions

Missions differ from one person to another according to each person’s nature. God uses strong personalities as well as gentle ones, and chooses for each person the work that suits his abilities and character. What matters is that a person performs his mission faithfully and excellently.

Family and Upbringing as a Mission

The lecture explains that fatherhood and motherhood are not merely physical care for children, but a spiritual responsibility toward their salvation and upbringing in the fear of God. Therefore, understanding one’s mission correctly is essential for success in spiritual life.

Divine Preparation for the Mission

The lecture presents biblical examples such as Joseph the Righteous and Moses the Prophet, where God used trials, sufferings, and different forms of training to prepare them for the mission to which they were called. Everything that God allows in a person’s life can become part of preparing him for greater service.

Mission and Fruitfulness

The lecture concludes by emphasizing that a person is called to be fruitful and influential in the world, and to live a useful life that goes beyond personal interests, becoming a source of goodness and blessing to others wherever he is.

General Message of the Lecture

God created every person for a special mission and prepares him for it in various ways. True happiness and the true value of life are achieved when a person discovers this mission and lives it with faithfulness, love, service to others, and for the glory of God.
