The Month of Abib, the Month of Feasts

The Month of Abib, the Month of Feasts
The Month of Abib, the Month of Feasts
One week filled with the great and well-known feasts.
On the 7th of Abib (July 14), we celebrate the commemoration of the great saint Anba Shenouda, Archimandrite of the Anchorites. Feasts are held for him in his monastery in Sohag, where thousands of people come seeking his blessing.
On the 8th of Abib (July 15), we celebrate the commemoration of the great saint Anba Bishoy, who carried the Savior and washed His feet. Feasts are held for him in his monastery in Wadi El Natrun, where thousands come seeking his blessing.
On the same day, we celebrate the commemoration of the great saint Anba Karas the Tourist.
It is a great blessing that we remember all these saints in one week: apostles, martyrs, anchorites, and tourists… How beautiful is the saying of Mar Isaac: “The stories of the saints are delightful, like water for newly planted trees.”
Blessed is the Lord who granted us His saints, who granted us in every path of life righteous guides who passed through it and experienced it, and described to us the road, its signs, and the way to reach the goal through it.
Blessed is the Lord who dwelt in Peter and Paul, in Shenouda and Bishoy, in Abakir and John, and in Karas.
And we venerate these pure divine dwellings, meaning these transparent spiritual souls. We receive blessings from them and walk in their straight paths…
