The Mind

⬇️ تحميل الفيديو

The lecture affirms that man is a rational creature, but there is great variance in the quality of the mind and its effectiveness among people.

Nature of the mind and its variance:
His Holiness explains that minds differ in intelligence, understanding, inference, and memory, and that mental abilities can be developed or weakened by use.

Influences that dominate the mind:
It is explained how doubt, ignorance, habits, emotions, fear, family and social influences, the media, and even brainwashing and other sects can stop the work of the sound mind or distort it.

Types of thinking:
A distinction between the superficial mind and the deep mind, between the mind led by others and the examining mind, and between the mind affected by emotion and the mind that leads emotion.

Dangers of temperament, desires, and blind obedience:
It is clarified that temperament, habits, desires (money, position, vengeance) and blind obedience can stop the mind and move a person contrary to sound thinking.

Mind, nerves, and emotion:
He warns that weakness of the psyche or excessive insistence may hand the person over to the control of the nerves and emotions so that logic disappears and shouting and revolt appear instead of thinking.

Role of wisdom and the Spirit:
He calls to seek wisdom from the wise, and to a mind led by the Holy Spirit, a living conscience and virtue, so that the mind is illuminated by the Spirit and not independent and leading people astray.

Spiritual conclusion:
The ideal mind according to His Holiness is an intelligent and alert mind, strong in knowledge, balanced in thinking, and surrendered to God by the Spirit and conscience; this combination of mind and spirit leads to sound judgment and correct behavior.
