The Goal and the Means

The Goal and the Means
Some people — unfortunately — have a spiritual goal, but an alienating means.
And this alienating means causes them to lose the attainment of their goal…
They either try to reach their goal through pressure or violence.
Or they adopt the means of stubbornness, threats, or defamation, thinking that they can force others to submit to their methods!!
Or their manner is devoid of spirituality, containing pride, self-conceit, or a desire to appear as one who knows what others do not know!!
Or, by their means, they stir up division among the ranks, confusion, and noise, causing people to scatter from around them…
Perhaps, by these alienating means, they prove that their goal is not truly spiritual, but that self-interest is involved in it to a great extent.
Or their means indicate their ignorance of the true nature of things.
The strange thing is that such people may continue in their wrong methods, learning no lesson from either the past or the present!!
But as for you, my beloved brother, if you have a spiritual goal, choose for reaching it a spiritual, gentle, and wise manner. Do not lose your goal because of the error of your method.
