This lecture focuses on the power of God, showing that God is powerful in His nature, in His works, in His word, in His love, and in His forgiveness. His power is seen in creation, miracles, patience, and judgment, and He grants strength to angels, humans, and all creation.

1. God’s Power in Himself

God is inherently powerful and self-sufficient.
Unlike humans who gain strength from external sources such as wealth or health, God’s strength comes from His divine nature, unchangeable and infinite.

2. God the Giver of Power

God grants power to others:

  • Angels are described as “mighty in strength.”

  • Nature’s strength (mountains, iron) comes from God.

  • Christ gave His disciples authority to heal and cast out demons.
All strength is derived, not independent.

3. God’s Power in Miracles and Creation

God’s miracles—parting the Red Sea, raising the dead, walking on water—reveal His authority.
In creation, only God can bring something out of nothing.
The greatest demonstrations of His power are creation and the general resurrection.

4. God’s Power in Knowledge

He knows every thought and feeling in every human heart.
His complete awareness of all things is a sign of His unlimited might.

5. God’s Power in Love and Forgiveness

God’s love is mighty—He loved “to the end” and gave Himself for humanity.
His forgiveness is strong:

  • He erases sins and remembers them no more.

  • He cleanses souls “whiter than snow.”

  • He forgave the adulterous woman, Saul of Tarsus, and the repentant thief.
Forgiveness is not weakness but divine strength.

6. God’s Power in Patience

God patiently bears humanity’s sins and blasphemies throughout history.
True strength lies in endurance, not in anger.

7. The Power of God’s Word

He said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
His word creates, heals, and transforms:

  • “Rise, take up your bed and walk.”

  • “Stretch out your hand.”
A single word from Him gives life and renewal.

8. God’s Power in Justice

God is also powerful in His righteous judgment—such as the Flood and the destruction of Sodom.
Even in punishment, His purpose is correction, not revenge.

9. Living by the Power of Faith

Those who trust in God’s power live in peace.
As St. Paul said:

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

10. Spiritual Conclusion

God alone is Almighty, the giver of strength, life, and forgiveness.
Let us rely not on our own strength but on His, praying:

“Lord, in my weakness, let Your strength be revealed.”
