Poetic and Literary Selections – I saw that people had leaned

⬇️ تحميل الفيديو

In this realistic reflection, His Holiness Pope Shenouda III quotes classical Arabic verses describing how people often favor the wealthy:
“I saw that people lean toward those who possess wealth, and those who have none—people turn away from them.”
“I saw that people go to those who have gold, and those who have none—they have gone away from them.”
Through this poetic wisdom, His Holiness highlights the human weakness of valuing people by their possessions rather than their virtues.

🔹 Main Idea:
People often favor the rich and neglect the poor, showing how society has lost the true measure of worth and dignity.

🔹 Human Reflection:
This behavior stems from self-interest and superficial thinking, where people judge others by what they own rather than who they are. Such attitudes empty human relationships of sincerity and depth.

🔹 Spiritual Dimension:
Christian teaching calls us to see as God sees—not by wealth or status, but by purity of heart. God shows no favoritism; He loves both the rich and the poor equally and honors the humble and righteous.

🔹 Faith Message:
True love is not based on benefit but on sincere affection and mutual service. A person guided by God’s Spirit is drawn not to wealth, but to every human being as an image of God.
