Love Never Fails

1. The nature of love that never fails
True love is spiritual and selfless; it seeks not its own benefit and does not fade before offense or danger. This love resembles God’s love for humanity — unchanging and steadfast.

2. Examples from the Holy Bible

  • David, Jonathan, and Saul: Despite Saul’s hatred, David’s love remained faithful; he wept for Saul and cared for his family.

  • David and Absalom: Even after his son’s betrayal, David’s love did not fall; he mourned him deeply.

  • Jacob and Joseph: His love for his son endured even when he thought him dead.
These examples reveal that true love endures beyond pain or betrayal.

3. Love that endures faults
The Lord asks us to forgive as He forgave — “seventy times seven.” God’s love for the prodigal son and the shepherd’s love for the lost sheep never end, but grow stronger until the lost one returns.

4. God’s unfailing love
Even with Peter’s denial and Christ’s crucifixion, divine love remained strong; the Lord said on the Cross, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” He loved even those who crucified Him and led some to faith.

5. Love that overcomes sin and apostasy
God accepts the repentant regardless of their past fall, as He received Israel after idolatry, for His love remains faithful: “If we are faithless, He remains faithful.”

6. Love that stands against hardships and threats
The shepherd who risks his life for one sheep, John and Joseph of Arimathea who followed Christ to the Cross — all show a love that knows no fear.

7. Love that endures pain and trials
From Job saying, “Blessed be the name of the Lord,” to the three youths in the furnace and Daniel in the lions’ den, we see love that never falls under affliction. Likewise, the martyrs bore suffering out of love for God.

8. Love unshaken by testing
God tests His children through trials to reveal the strength of their love. Those who remain steadfast will live with Him in His kingdom.
“Many waters cannot quench love, nor can floods drown it.” (Song of Songs 8:7).
