Many churches were established in the names of holy women. Here we mention the most famous among them:

1- The Virgin Mary:
Many churches were built in her name in Egypt and outside Egypt. Even some monasteries of monks in Egypt bear the name of the Virgin, such as El-Muharraq, El-Surian, and El-Baramous.

2- Saint Demiana:
She is the saint after the Virgin upon whose name the greatest number of churches were built in Egypt. Among them are her monastery in the wilderness, and her churches in Bulaq, Shubra, Kafr Abdel-Sayed Shenouda in Minya El-Qamh, Mansoura, El-Zarabi in Fayoum, Banoub Zahr El-Gamal in Dayrout, Kom Bouha in Dayrout, Tama, Akhmim, Naqada, Faw Qibli, Qena, and Beni Mansour in El-Balyana.

3- Mother Dolagy: in Esna.

4- Mother Rebecca: in Senbat.

5- Saint Barbara: in El-Sharabia, Cairo.

6- Saint Julitta and her son Cyriacus: in Sahel Tahta.

7, 8- Saint Helena and Saint Sophia: in many Greek churches.
