Famous Women in the Bible and History – The Marian Month

The month of Kiahk is a month famous for praises, hymns, doxologies, and devotional vigils, in preparation for the glorious Feast of the Nativity… and in preparation of hearts to receive this joyful news, which is the Incarnation of the Lord from the Virgin Mary.
Since the majority of the praises of Kiahk are dedicated to the Lady Virgin Mary, some churches have called it “the Marian Month” in reference to her. These praises are a fulfillment of the Virgin’s saying: “For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed, for the Mighty One has done great things for me, and holy is His Name.”
These doxologies and praises require deep contemplation and study in order to understand the position of the Virgin in the Church.
What are the many descriptions by which the Virgin has been described? What are the symbols that point to her? What are the depths of all these things? And what is the place of the Virgin in our rites and hymns? All this requires explanation. There is no woman in existence who has enjoyed as many titles and descriptions as Mary the Virgin, such as Mary “the beautiful dove,” “Aaron’s censer,” “the rod of Aaron that budded,” “the bush which Moses the prophet saw”… Mary of whom it was said that she is the Queen, and that she is the second heaven, and that she is “the true manna.” What is the meaning of all this?
