Committees of the Holy Synod
In the previous issue, we published about the convening of the Monasticism Committee and the Rites Committee. Here we continue publishing the meetings of the remaining committees.
Diocesan Affairs Committee
It convened under the presidency of the Pope. Present were Their Graces: Anba Domadius, Anba Bishoy, Anba Timotheos, Anba Hedra, Anba Kyrillos, Anba Paula, Anba Andraous, Anba Isaiah, and Anba Sawirus.
It examined the problems existing in some dioceses, the relationship of the dioceses with one another, the need of the personal status service for notaries, the relationship of the father bishops with their priests, and matters concerning marriage permits.
His Grace Anba Philips was absent from the meeting due to his preoccupation with the feast of Saint Mar Girgis in Mit Damsis.
Ecclesiastical Relations Committee:
It convened under the presidency of the Pope and in the presence of Their Graces: Anba Bishoy, Anba Arsanius, Anba Benjamin, Anba Tadros, Anba Moussa, Anba Andraous, Anba Marcos, and Anba Serapion.
It examined the relationship of the Coptic Church with the Catholic Church and the Byzantine Orthodox Churches (Greek Orthodox).
Faith, Education, and Canon Law Committee:
It met under the presidency of the Pope and the membership of the father bishops who work in the Clerical College and its branches. It discussed some matters concerning church education.
Pastoral Care and Service Committee:
It convened under the presidency of the Pope. Present were Their Graces: Anba Amonius, Anba Angelos, Anba Paula, Anba Mattaos, Anba Moussa, Anba Fam, and Anba Serapion.
It discussed preparing a draft regulation for consecrated women, a regulation for church education, the care of expatriate men and women, and the relationship of the dioceses with the Bishopric of Services.
Public Relations Committee:
It convened under the presidency of the Pope, in the presence of the secretariat, Their Graces Anba Domadius, Anba Andraous, and Anba Serapion, and Hegumen Marcos Ghali, Patriarchate Vicar.
