The Word of God: Hope for All – Bible Week
The Holy Bible is a book of hope and consolation for every person, regardless of his condition or circumstances.
The believing person learns from the Bible that God is continually with him, and therefore he does not live alone and should not surrender to fear.
The Bible confirms this hope through God’s promises and through the stories of people who experienced God’s presence amid distress, suffering, and dangers.
The Bible presents examples such as the three young men in the fiery furnace, Daniel in the lions’ den, and Joseph the righteous, for whom God turned the evil that others intended against him into good.
Spiritual Message
The Word of God comforts a person in his distress and gives him hope that God is working even when all circumstances appear to be against him.
The Bible offers great hope to sinners, showing that God is able to change a person’s life and that repentance opens the way for sins to be blotted out and forgiveness to be received.
This hope appears in stories such as the prodigal son, Saul of Tarsus who became a great apostle, and Mary Magdalene whose life was transformed and who became a witness for Christ.
The Bible also declares that Christ came to seek and save what was lost; therefore, no person should think that his condition is hopeless.
Educational Lesson
The Bible also teaches us that hope is not limited to the present life, but extends to salvation and eternal life.
Hope includes victory over death, eternal life, being with God, and having bodies that are not subject to corruption, according to what the Bible declares about the life to come.
It also explains that God’s work in a person does not cease; He is the One who gives the will and the strength and works in the person and with him.
Therefore, a person is called to trust in God, read His Word, hold fast to His promises, and find in them consolation and hope in every situation.
Practical Spiritual Application
When a person faces fear or distress, he should return to the Word of God and place before himself the verses and psalms that proclaim God’s presence and His victory.
Whenever a person reads the Bible and reflects on God’s dealings with His saints and with sinners, his heart becomes filled with hope.
He should not lose hope because of his sin or weakness, but should turn to God in repentance, trusting that God is able to purify him and change his life.
The Holy Bible declares that God does not abandon His children, but is with them all the days and leads them on the path of life until they reach the hope of eternity.
