In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth

⬇️ تحميل الفيديو

The lecture reflects on the words of the Book of Genesis, “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth,” explaining that the beginning refers to the beginning of creation and to the beginning of time, space, matter, and life.
Before creation, there was no time or space in the sense that we know them, and God alone was self-sufficient.
The teaching emphasizes that God is the Creator, meaning that He brought things into existence from nothing, and is not merely a maker who uses materials that already existed.
From the story of creation, we come to know God as the One who is capable of everything, wise, loving, and the source of all existence and life.
The lecture also explains that the Holy Bible does not intend to provide a detailed history of creation, but rather to reveal God’s work, His relationship with humanity, and the purpose of salvation.

Spiritual Message

God created the universe not because He needed glorification or needed His creatures, but out of His love, generosity, and compassion, giving existence to those who did not exist.
God’s love and the beauty of His wisdom are revealed in the diversity and harmony of creation, and in the beauty of the earth, the heavens, living creatures, and the laws governing creation.
The lecture also connects God’s work as Creator with the work of the Holy Trinity, explaining that everything came into being through the Word, that is, the Logos, the Son of God, and that the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
It also emphasizes that God is the source of life, because life cannot come from lifeless, inanimate matter by itself.

Educational Lesson

The story of creation teaches us that the word “day” in the account of Genesis can be understood as a period of time, which may be a moment or a long period, and therefore there should not be a conflict between faith and science in this matter.
We also learn that God created creation with order, wisdom, and beauty, and that the order and harmony found in the universe testify to the work of the Creator.
The story also explains that God did not create evil as evil; rather, the angel who became Satan transformed himself from the state in which God had created him.
Through the story of the earth that was formless and empty, we learn that the Spirit of God does not leave desolation as it is, but can transform desolation into flourishing, lifeless matter into life, and darkness into light.

Practical Spiritual Application

If a person feels that his life has become like the formless and empty earth, filled with darkness and lacking good works, he should not despair or think that God has abandoned him.
The Holy Spirit can work in a person just as He hovered over the face of the waters, bringing light, life, and beauty out of his life.
Therefore, a person should trust in God’s ability to renew his life and should return to Him, seeking light, restoration, and transformation from desolation into a righteous life.
He should also look at creation with spiritual eyes, seeing in it God’s wisdom, power, and love, and remembering that the God who created the world from nothing is also able to renew the human being and lead him into a better life.
