The Hope Series – God’s Care for the Little Things

⬇️ تحميل الفيديو

The lecture revolves around the hope that springs from the truth that God cares for the little ones and accepts small things and small works, and does not measure a person according to how people view his position or abilities. It explains that the Holy Bible presents many examples of people and works that seemed small, but God gave them great value and used them in His work, such as David, Jeremiah, Samuel, the small amount of bread and fish, the widow’s two mites, and a cup of cold water. It also emphasizes that no matter how small a person may feel his abilities are, or how low his position or limited his knowledge may be, he is neither small nor forgotten before God.

Spiritual Message

The central spiritual message is a message of hope: God does not despise a small effort if it is what a person is sincerely able to offer at the present time. He looks at the heart more than He looks at the quantity of the work, and therefore He praised the widow’s offering, accepted the humility of the tax collector, and cared for the one lost sheep and the lost coin. God also does not leave the weak person in his weakness, but accepts his small beginning and then gradually makes him grow, as was shown in the growth of Nicodemus and others. Therefore, a person should not despair of himself, because God is able to take the small and make him great, the sinner and lead him to repentance, and the weak and strengthen him.

Educational Lesson

The lecture teaches us not to despise anyone because of his young age, rank, knowledge, or social position, and also not to despise any sincere spiritual beginning, no matter how limited it may be. God used people who were not great in the eyes of the world in order to show that power and grace come from Him and not from human ability alone. The lecture also presents an important principle in spiritual dealings with others, which is to encourage the weak and develop the good that they have instead of placing burdens beyond their ability upon them or judging them harshly. Wisdom and compassion require caring for the small sign of life within a person and working for its growth.

Practical Application

The practical application is for a person to offer God faithfully what he is able to give, even if it is little, and not to refrain from spiritual work on the grounds that his abilities are weak or that his effort is not worthwhile. He should begin with prayer, repentance, service, and works of love according to his present ability, trusting that God accepts the sincere beginning and makes it grow. He should likewise encourage others, especially the weak and the fainthearted, and should not despise any small spiritual effort on their part. The goal is not for a person to remain small, but to place the little that he has in God’s hand so that it may grow by grace and bear more fruit.
