Saints Who Were Soldiers and Horsemen
Many saints were among the men of the army and among the horsemen.
Among them we mention: Saint George, the Prince of Martyrs, who appears in all his traditional images as a horseman on his horse, holding a spear.
Likewise, Saint Theodore the Oriental, Saint Theodore of Shotep, and Saint Victor, son of Romanus.
Among these also are Saint Mina the Wonderworker and Saint Mercurius Abu Seifein.
We also do not forget that Saint Pachomius, the Father of the Communal Monastic Life, was a soldier in the army before becoming a monk.
