Consecration or Ordination?

Consecration or Ordination?
Regarding deaconesses, we tend to use the term “consecration” rather than “ordination.”
The texts that spoke about deaconesses contain many differences. Some used the term “consecration,” while others used the term “ordination.”
However, the important point in the matter is that no priestly hand is laid upon a woman. Rather, she is appointed for service through liturgical prayers, so the Church approves and sanctifies her service. But she does not perform any of the works of the priesthood.
