Blessed Are the Pure in Heart
His Holiness Pope Shenouda III speaks about the meaning of true blessedness which the Lord Christ declared in the Sermon on the Mount, explaining that blessedness is not merely temporary joy or bodily pleasure, but rather a life of blessing and spiritual happiness connected with God. He confirms that man does not find true happiness in material things or in glorifying the self, but rather in loving God and going out from the circle of selfishness to the love of others.

Therefore, the greatest commandment is that a person loves the Lord with all his heart, because this love leads to every righteousness.
