The lecture highlights that true humility protects a person from falling into anger, because the humble heart does not cling to its personal rights and does not react in rage when offended, but accepts things calmly and with trust in God.

Spiritual Dimension

Humility is considered one of the greatest virtues in Coptic Orthodox spiritual life, as it makes a person resemble Christ in meekness of heart. A humble person does not see himself above others, therefore he does not get angry easily, because anger is often linked to pride.

Relationship Between Humility and Anger

The more humility increases in the heart, the less anger there is. A proud person gets angry because he feels insulted, while a humble person endures and forgives. Humility grants the soul inner peace that protects it from disturbance and agitation.

Practical Application

The teaching calls for training the النفس to accept insults with patience, not rushing to respond, and maintaining constant prayer to acquire the spirit of humility. It also encourages self-examination instead of judging others.

Spiritual Fruits

The humble person gains peace and calmness, lives in love with everyone, and stays away from conflicts. He also experiences the presence of God in his life more deeply.
