The Work of the Holy Spirit in Us
The Holy Spirit works to renew the nature of the human from within, granting him spiritual strength to resist sin and walk in righteousness. He also teaches the person and guides him to the truth and reminds him of the word of God.
Divine Indwelling
The Holy Spirit dwells in the heart of the believer, transforming his life into a holy temple. This indwelling calls the person to a life of purity and holiness, because God Himself is present within him.
Spiritual Fruits
Through the work of the Holy Spirit, spiritual fruits appear in the life of the person such as love, joy, peace, and longsuffering. These fruits are evidence of the true work of God within the soul.
Personal Relationship
The relationship with the Holy Spirit is a daily relationship based on prayer, repentance, and fellowship with God. The more a person draws near to God, the more he feels the work of the Spirit within him deeply.
Spiritual Struggle
A person needs to struggle to preserve the grace of the Holy Spirit within him, not grieving Him by sin or negligence, but living in constant spiritual vigilance.
Orthodox Faith Dimension
From a Coptic Orthodox perspective, the Holy Spirit is the One who establishes the person in Christ and leads him to the communion of the Church and the holy sacraments, especially the sacrament of Chrismation in which the believer receives the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
