Our Need for Human Resources for Service

His Holiness the Pope sends 40 of the priest fathers to serve outside the country, in addition to the priests whom he sent to serve in Jerusalem and Sudan. Added to them are the monastic fathers who were ordained as bishops, and the fathers who work in the papal residence and the clerical college.

The Pope ordains 55 priests, establishes monastic orders, and founds religious institutes to prepare human resources.

The Church has carried out a very wide activity abroad, in a short period, during which it extended broadly in America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia. This activity required great human resources that had to be provided.

The need for human resources continues to increase day after day, and the fields opening before the Church are expanding and multiplying. The Church still cries out with the words of the Lord: “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few” (Matt. 9:37; Luke 10:2).

Especially since we need laborers of special types. Not every person, for example, is fit for service outside the country.

So what are the human resources that the Pope sent for service abroad?
