1. Giving an account before God
Before the crucifixion, Christ presents a “final account” of His saving work. Every human will one day give an account of his life: can he truly say, “I have glorified You on the earth”?

2. Christ glorified the Father uniquely
Christ glorified the Father in two things that no one else could perform:

  • His holy, sinless life.

  • His redeeming work that restored God’s children to Him.
He is the true Image who restored God’s glory which humanity lost through sin.

3. Glorifying God is not by words only
Although believers recite many praises in prayer, true glorification is practical living, obedience, and holiness, not speech alone.

4. “The work You gave Me to do I have finished”
Finishing means:

  • Accuracy and faithfulness in service.

  • Partnership with God in every work.

  • Completing all responsibilities given by God in personal life and in service.

5. “I have manifested Your name to the people”
Christ revealed the Father in a new way as the loving, compassionate Father.
The servant must reveal God’s love to others—not information only, but transforming love.

6. Entering the divine love
“May the love with which You have loved Me be in them, and I in them”:
Christ brings the believer into divine love, like branches abiding in the Vine.

7. The living word in ministry
Christ teaches that the servant must give people a word received from God. Only the divine word penetrates hearts and transforms lives.

8. Everything we have is God’s gift
The repeated phrase “You have given Me” in John 17 shows that:

  • people,

  • talents,

  • the word,

  • and relative glory,
are all God’s gifts, entrusted to the servant who will give account for them.
