Visitation

Visitation
The priest must know all his people and forget no one. For many families say that years have passed without any of the priests visiting them… and they may remain like this until someone from another denomination visits them, showing love toward them, and they begin to feel loyalty and belonging to him…
Through visitation, the priest becomes acquainted with the people and their problems, works to solve them, builds a relationship with every member of the family, invites them to the church meeting, and makes them one of his own children.
And the family feels that God has entered the house…
Yet there is a difference between a visit and a visitation.
There are priests who visit families without truly visiting them… They speak about any topic except God and spiritual matters, as if they were ordinary guests and not priests, and they leave without leaving any spiritual impact on the hearts!
Visitation includes a spiritual session with the whole family, understanding the state of each individual separately, taking notes in a special notebook…
Then following up, so that the family visited feels that the priest is taking matters seriously and practically, and that the visitation was a turning point in the life of the family…
And based on visitation, church membership can be organized. The proper approach is that visitation is done according to a map of the area’s streets so that no one is overlooked, and so that visitation does not become concentrated on certain families who happen to have a special friendship with the priest.
