To you be the power and the glory

⬇️ تحميل الفيديو

His Holiness Pope Shenouda III explains that the sufferings of Christ are not a sign of weakness, but a revelation of the true power of Christ, which appeared in every stage of His life—from creation to the cross, resurrection, and ascension. Divine power is shown in humility, endurance, love, and forgiveness, not in violence or domination.

1. Christ’s Power in Creation

“All things were made by Him.” Christ is the Logos of God, the Divine Word through whom the universe was created—this is the first manifestation of divine strength.

2. The Power of the Incarnation and Self-Emptying

The Incarnation is not weakness, but the power of humility. Christ voluntarily emptied Himself, took the form of a servant, and was born in a manger, refusing earthly glory.
True strength is when one possesses power but chooses not to use it, out of love and redemption.

3. The Power of Endurance

Christ revealed great inner strength by enduring insults, accusations, and persecution without retaliation.
He was accused of having a demon and of breaking the Law, yet He remained silent and blessed His persecutors—showing that endurance is the highest form of strength.

4. The Power of the Word and Miracles

His word created life: He said to the paralytic, “Rise,” and he rose; to the widow’s son, “Young man, arise,” and he lived; to Lazarus, “Come forth,” and he came out of the tomb.
His word carried divine authority over nature, death, and sickness.

5. The Power of the Cross

On the cross He was not weak but mighty in love, sacrifice, and forgiveness.
He prayed, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.”
He endured betrayal and pain with royal calmness, cried out in victory, and gave up His spirit.
Even in death, His power descended to Hades to free the righteous, and in resurrection He shattered the seals of the tomb.

6. The Power of Resurrection and Ascension

He rose by the power of His divinity, appeared to His disciples though the doors were shut, and ascended into heaven, conquering gravity and death.
In His resurrection He forgave the doubters and restored His disciples with boundless love.

7. The Power in His Care and Eternity

Christ’s power continues in His care for the Church. He said,
“I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
He is the Good Shepherd who gives His life for the sheep and sends His Holy Spirit to dwell within us.
In Revelation, He appeared with a face shining like the sun in its strength, declaring, “I am the First and the Last, the Living One forever.”

8. Spiritual Message for Us

The power of Christ is not in dominance but in humility, love, and endurance.
Every believer is called to live this inner power—overcoming weakness with patience, returning evil with forgiveness, and standing firm in faith through every trial.
