The Attributes of God – The Almighty

The lecture affirms that God’s power is unlimited especially in creation and resurrection, and that these two miracles are the greatest before which science is unable.
God’s power and its giving and withdrawing
It shows that God is able to grant great powers to creatures — to animals and to humans and to saints — and that He also has the power to withdraw this ability whenever He wills, with examples from the life of Samson, Jonah, Peter and the Lord Christ.
Biblical and miraculous examples
It reviews several examples that demonstrate God’s power: turning water into wine, feeding the crowds with five loaves and two fish, healing of incurable diseases, walking on the water, casting out demons, splitting the sea and bringing forth water from the rock, and saving Daniel and the three youths.
God’s control over powers and evil
The lecture clarifies that the devil is not a god competing but a creature under God’s sovereignty, and that God restrains or releases powers according to His wisdom and that He is the controller of all.
The power of God’s word
It affirms that God’s word has a living and effective power, sharper than a two-edged sword, and that it works in creation, healing, teaching and resurrection.
God’s power in love and forgiveness
It highlights that God’s power includes love, giving and forgiveness, and that His love leads to salvation, liberation and bringing sinners back to Him, and that His forgiveness is vast and includes repentant ones even at the last hour.
His forbearance and patience
The lecture points out that forbearance and patience are signs of strength; God endures the sins of humans and delays punishment to grant opportunity for repentance, and this is evidence of His greatness and mercy.
A call to believers
The lecture calls believers to rejoice in God’s protection and to acknowledge that every ability in us and around us is from Him, and that the Church is called to know God’s power and work with it in service, love and spiritual building.
