Youth Who Reached a Great Rank in the History of the Church

The Main Idea of the Lecture
The lecture explains that youth are not small in spiritual influence, but they can reach great ranks in the life of faith and in the service of the Church. His Holiness Pope Shenouda III confirms that church history and the Holy Bible are full of young people who became leaders, saints, and martyrs because the Word of God was ثابت in their hearts, so they became strong and overcame the evil one.
Examples of Youth in the History of the Church
His Holiness Pope Shenouda III mentions many examples of young people who stood out in the history of the Church such as Saint Athanasius the Apostolic who defended the faith while he was young, wrote great theological books, and was a hero in the Council of Nicaea. He also speaks about Saint Mark the Apostle who came to Egypt as a young man and spread the Christian faith despite the difficulties, and Saint John the Beloved who was a young man filled with divine love and became one of the pillars of the Church.
Youth in Service and Teaching
The teaching also refers to young people who served the Church strongly such as Timothy the disciple of Paul the Apostle, who became a bishop despite his young age, and the apostle advised him to be an example to believers. It also mentions the example of Father Menas Yohanna who served and wrote great spiritual books although he reposed at a young age.
Youth in Martyrdom and Monasticism
His Holiness Pope Shenouda III also presents examples of martyrs such as Saint Mina and Saint George who showed the strength of faith in their youth until martyrdom. He also mentions saints of monasticism such as Saint Anthony, Saint Paul, and Saint Misael the Anchorite, who began their spiritual life as young men and became great spiritual leaders.
Youth in the Holy Bible
The teaching presents biblical examples such as Joseph the Righteous who succeeded in everything he did and was loved by everyone, and David the Prophet who showed great courage from his youth when he faced the lion and the bear and then Goliath.
The Spiritual Message
The main message is that youth can be a great power in the Church if they are filled with faith and holy zeal. A young person filled with the Word of God can be like fire that ignites and also ignites others, and therefore the Church needs strong youth in faith, determination, and service.
