Who is Maliki Sadiq?

⬇️ تحميل الفيديو

The lecture explains the identity of Melchizedek as presented in the Holy Bible and answers the questions about whether he is Christ, a divine appearance, or merely a symbol. Pope Shenouda III clarifies the Orthodox belief that Melchizedek was a real historical person, the king of Salem and priest of God Most High, and that he is not Christ nor a divine manifestation.

🕊 Biblical and Theological Interpretation

  • His description in Hebrews as “without father, without mother, without genealogy” refers to his priestly status, not to his personal existence.

  • It means he had no priestly lineage like the Aaronic priesthood.

  • Christ has a known genealogy and true incarnation, but since He is not from the tribe of Levi, His priesthood is according to the order of Melchizedek, not the order of Aaron.

📖 Refuting the Idea That Melchizedek Is Christ

  • Scripture says “likened to the Son of God,” not “He is the Son of God.”

  • His blessing of Abraham proves he is a servant of God, since God does not say, “Blessed are you from God Most High,” but blesses directly.

  • The absence of awe and fear typical of divine appearances confirms that he was not a divine manifestation.

📚 Doctrinal Dimension

  • No Church Father ever taught that Melchizedek is Christ; this idea first appeared with the Jewish philosopher Philo and is not a Church teaching.

  • The lecture stresses the importance of holding to Orthodox tradition and interpreting Scripture within its sound theological context.

🌿 Spiritual Message

The lecture shows that Melchizedek symbolizes Christ in certain attributes such as his name or role, but remains a human person.
It highlights the need to distinguish between symbol and fulfillment, relying on the understanding of the Church Fathers rather than personal ideas turned into doctrine.
