Some people think that discussing doctrine means hurting the other party and turning from objectivity in dialogue to personal attacks..!
However, theologians are supposed to be at a level of spiritual life that allows them to engage in debate without violating the commandment.
What is required in theological dialogue is not merely winning the argument,
but also gaining the other person as much as possible…
Or at least, not losing him as a human being…
