The Priest and the People

The Priest and the People
The priest is for the people, not the people for the priest.
Therefore, the people are the ones who have an interest in the ordination of the priest, and thus they have the right to choose their shepherd.
The priest, in relation to his people and to his Church, is a servant of the Church and a servant of the people. He spends all his time and all his effort for the comfort of the people.
His work is to bring people to God, and he will give an account before God for this responsibility.
He has no right to exalt himself above the people, nor to consider himself a ruler over them, but rather a father and a servant.
