Text of the Telegram to the Prime Minister
Mr. Mamdouh Salem, Prime Minister – Cairo.
I was very pleased by your selection as Prime Minister. It is a choice that befell its rightful one. My heartfelt congratulations to you for the confidence that Mr. President has placed in you during this delicate period, and congratulations to Egypt for you. Our prayers are all that the Lord may grant you strength and grace, so that you may carry out the serious responsibilities placed upon you and achieve the great hope entrusted to your devotion and sincerity. The Lord be with you.

Blessed Is Egypt…
Whatever economic pressures, political, military, or internal problems may surround Egypt, our hearts are continually filled with hope for Egypt, for the following reasons:
1- God loves Egypt, and He has previously said: “Blessed is My people Egypt” (Isaiah 19:25). This promise from Him gives us hope and strength…
2- Egypt is in faithful and loyal hands.
3- Egypt continually benefits from every experience it goes through, and takes the experiences of the past as a foundation upon which it builds the future.
4- Egypt has previously risen from many crises it went through, and it was not thought that it would regain its youth so quickly!
5- Egypt is a country rich in its natural resources, rich in its great strategic location, rich in its distinguished men, rich in talents and competencies… and Egypt has also become rich in the trust of peoples…

The Church, in all its Liturgies, prays for our country, for its president and its leaders, for its Nile and its fertility, and for its peace and preservation. May God bless Egypt and make it a light and a beacon…
