The Creed is a solid spiritual and doctrinal text in the Church, transmitted from the time of the apostles and then officially formulated at the Council of Nicaea in 325 AD and completed regarding the Holy Spirit at the Council of Constantinople in 381 AD. The lecturer emphasizes that whoever believes this creed falls under the name Christian, and whoever denies it is outside basic Christian faith.

Main Idea — Faith above Reason
The lecture explains that faith is not merely heritage or tradition, but a heartfelt conviction and trust that transcends the limits of the mind — it does not conflict with reason but is a higher level than it. There are matters that the mind cannot fully comprehend (such as the resurrection, the spirit, and the angels), so these are received by faith with humility of heart and simplicity of spirit.

Core Doctrines in the Creed
The creed affirms the doctrine of the Trinity: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, three persons in one God without association. It also addresses the incarnation of Christ and its matters: birth, crucifixion, resurrection, ascension, and the second coming to judge the living and the dead. It also mentions baptism as a source of forgiveness of sins and belief in the resurrection of the dead and the life of the age to come.

Role of Reason and Faith in Spiritual Life
Reason leads a person to some point and then stops, and faith comes to take us to a higher level. The lecturer stresses the importance of simplicity and heartfelt surrender, and encourages planting faith from childhood so that doubts in adulthood do not overpower it.

The Oneness of God and the Fatherhood of God
The text affirms the oneness of God and that the Trinity does not mean multiple gods or polytheism, but the unity of the divine essence. God is Father to all creation, Lord of all and Creator of the heavens and the earth and of what is seen and unseen, and His care encompasses all beings, intentions, and secret things.

Heaven, Creation, and the Unseen
The lecturer explains the meaning of “heaven” in its gradations (the heaven of birds, the firmament, paradise, and the heaven of heavens) and points out that the Creator is one and that all the heavens, angels, and all orders of creation were made by God. He also notes that there are creatures and spiritual realities not seen by the physical eye but they are real.

Summary of the Spiritual Message
The core message of the lecture is an invitation to a true, simple, and saving faith — a faith that believes in unity and the Trinity with surrender of heart and hope in the Lord’s resurrection and coming, and in nurturing this faith from childhood so that it resists doubts.
