Service and Its Power

Power in Service

• True service is a partnership with the Holy Spirit, not an independent human work.
• Fruitful service does not begin without receiving power from above, as happened with the apostles on the Day of Pentecost.
• Powerful service bears fruit, influences others, and expands from the individual to the family and then to the whole Church.

Practical Dimensions of Service

• Service is continuous giving, seeking neither glory nor authority, but giving constantly like the sun, the river, and the fruitful tree.
• It is a trust and responsibility, because every soul entrusted to the servant is a deposit for which he will be accountable before God.
• Service is a living example, for people look at the servant’s life more than his words.

Service as a Spiritual Bridge

• The servant is a bridge between God and people, taking from God and giving to people.
• Service is the handing down of life and faith, not mere theoretical teaching, as the early Church delivered the faith through life before words.
• It is a work of grace and power, the living Word of God that never returns empty.

Conclusion

Service without power is not true service. The spiritual servant is strong in God, filled with the Spirit, fruitful in influence, witnessing to God by his life before his words, and leading souls to growth and steadfastness in faith.
