The Pope tells a story showing his humility: Saint Pachomius sent him to correct the monks in a monastery who were difficult and disobedient in the bakery. When some new monks asked about his mission, he humbly said he was going to work as a baker. When he arrived, all the monks welcomed him with great respect as the disciple of the great Pachomius — and the new monks felt ashamed of their earlier words.
