Reasons for the Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ to Us

This lecture explains that the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ was not only for redemption and salvation, but also to reveal God to humanity through a living relationship based on love, not on formal knowledge or fear.
Lecture Summary
First: Christ Came to Reveal God to Us
His Holiness Pope Shenouda III explains that knowing God is not easy, because God is unlimited while humans are limited. Therefore, Christ came to make God known not as a name or concept, but as a living relationship.
Second: God Is Love
The Lord Jesus revealed that God is love, and that the path to God is love. Love is the true sign of faith, and whoever is far from love is far from God.
Third: Prayer Is a Relationship of Love, Not an Obligation
Prayer is not merely words or a duty, but a longing to be close to God and to dwell in His presence. God desires the heart before outward forms.
Fourth: God Is a Father
Christ changed people’s understanding of God from a fearful deity to a loving heavenly Father, who gives generously and cares for His children with compassion.
Fifth: God Is the Good Shepherd
Christ presented God as a shepherd who cares for His sheep, seeks the lost, heals the wounded, and leads them to green pastures and waters of rest.
Sixth: God Is Holy
God’s holiness is intrinsic to His nature and calls us to a life of holiness and purity, because sin is rebellion against the Holy God.
Seventh: God Is Truth and Justice
Whoever departs from truth departs from God. God is absolute truth and justice, and every lie or injustice is a separation from Him.
Eighth: Knowledge Leads to Love
The more a person knows God, the more he loves Him, and the more he loves Him, the deeper his knowledge becomes, in a continuous spiritual cycle.
Conclusion
His Holiness Pope Shenouda III calls us to make God the desire of our hearts, to love Him sincerely, and to love righteousness and goodness not out of fear or obligation, but out of true love.
