Purification of Teaching

Purification of Teaching
Some of those who teach in the Church do not present to their students or listeners the teaching of the Church. Instead, they present a personal thought—one that belongs to them or to others—which they have read in some books or heard elsewhere, and it may even be a distorted idea or one completely opposed to the Church’s teaching!
We are in need of purifying teaching—whether it be preaching from the pulpit, sermons, teaching in Sunday Schools, or teaching through publications, whether books, magazines, pamphlets, or even through incorrect teaching that creeps into hymns without the singers realizing it, as it also sneaks into some pictures.
The purification of teaching is above the level of courtesies; it should not be influenced by favoritism. The faithfulness of the Church in this generation is what it hands down to the generations to come. In ancient times, the Church was very careful and very firm concerning the matter of teaching, and we must maintain this same care and firmness.
