Preparation for the general resurrection
The speaker talks about the reality of the general Resurrection in which the soul returns to the body so that the person stands as a complete personality and is judged for his deeds.
He explains that judgment cannot be immediate after death because the body becomes dust, so God’s wisdom calls for the Resurrection so that the union between soul and body is completed.
He emphasizes that all deeds, apparent and hidden, intellectual and sensory, follow the person and there is no escape from them; deeds accompany him wherever he goes.
He highlights that true salvation can be attained by true repentance which erases sins by God’s mercy, forgiveness, and compassion.
He explains that true repentance is not merely abandoning sin but hating it in the heart and addressing its consequences and repairing what the person has corrupted as far as he is able.
He stresses that repentance has positive aspects: that the soul turns toward the love of God and doing good, not merely a negative abstention from evil.
He urges self-examination before one is judged by God, for that grants an opportunity for repentance and reform.
He exhorts doing daily good deeds, for every day that passes without good is considered a wasted day, and God rewards even small acts of mercy and good intentions.
He concludes with a prayer for blessing, peace, and help for the homeland and extends prayer for the president and the country.
