The poem “O My God, the Deepest Love Is Your Love” was written by His Holiness Pope Shenouda III in 2008. It is one of his final and most profound spiritual poems — a pure prayer of divine love expressing the soul’s longing and union with its Creator. It reflects perfect surrender and a heart entirely filled with God.

🌿 Main Idea:
He begins: “O my God, the deepest love is Your love; I long to see You.” These words overflow with spiritual yearning — not for earthly sight but for the divine presence. It is a love that nothing on earth can satisfy, a constant desire for the beauty and glory of God.

💫 Spiritual Dimension:
The poem portrays the believer’s soul seeking God in all circumstances: “Among people I draw them to You, and in solitude I contemplate Your depth.” God is present both in communion and in silence — filling all life with His nearness.

🔥 Faithful Reflection:
The Pope meditates on God’s creative majesty: “You are the source of the universe, O Lord of creation; all the glory of the world Your hands have made.” Then he confesses complete trust: “O my God, You are my help, my fortress, my Lord — I live in Your love.” It is the summit of surrender and peace.

💖 Final Message:
The poem calls to a life of divine love — to find satisfaction in God’s pleasure alone. “In You is what always fulfills my heart; O Lord, the joy of the heart is Your satisfaction.” It is the prayer of a soul that has found eternal rest in God’s love.
