It was said in the Book of Genesis that God created the light
Question:
It was said in the Book of Genesis that God created the light on the first day (1:3), while it was said that He created the sun, the moon, and the stars on the fourth day (1:14–18). What is the difference between the two matters? And when did the light exist—on the first day or on the fourth day?
Answer:
On the first day, God created the substance of light, and on the fourth day He made from this substance the sun, the moon, and the stars, and He established the laws of astronomy, its systems, and the fixed relationships among these celestial bodies.
