Islamic-Christian Dialogue Conference – A Speech on Religion and the Aims of Dialogue

⬇️ تحميل الفيديو

The talk addresses the importance of meeting and dialogue between Muslims and Christians, explaining that simply meeting in an atmosphere of harmony and love is itself a blessing. Meeting helps people become acquainted, build friendship, and exchange ideas, and through repeated meetings, greater unity of thought and cooperation in common work can be achieved. The talk emphasizes that there are many areas in which members of society can cooperate, especially in Egypt and the Middle East.

Spiritual Message

The talk points to the existence of broad areas of shared values and principles, such as belief in God, goodness, virtue, righteousness, and opposition to sin and evil. It also mentions belief in the resurrection and the life to come, and that everyone will stand before God, the just Judge, who will reward each person according to his or her deeds. It emphasizes that God has given human beings reason, conscience, and revelation so that they may know His commandments, teachings, and holy will, and that human beings are responsible for developing the earth and spreading peace, truth, justice, equality, and unity of hearts.

Educational Lesson

The talk distinguishes between understanding and mutual understanding: understanding means knowing certain matters, while mutual understanding means understanding the other person and exchanging understanding and knowledge with them. This is why dialogue has a role in removing misunderstanding and lack of understanding and in discovering goodness and virtue in the other person. Therefore, dialogue should be based on positive things, because negative things destroy while positive things build, and the goal is to increase trust, love, and mutual understanding among those engaged in dialogue.

Practical Application

The talk calls for continuing meetings and dialogue and engaging in positive work in order to spread goodness, unite people, and demonstrate the affection, love, and harmony that exist among them. It also encourages beginning this cooperation in the Middle East and then extending its fruits to other places. These meetings should be the beginning of many further meetings, and the goodness resulting from them should be an encouragement to continue dialogue and cooperation. In this way, those engaged in dialogue can become an example to others through meeting, dialogue, and harmony.
